This is a compact projector that allows to project both individual slides and film strips. For the latter, it has a slot through which the film is inserted and an axis that allows the strip to be rolled up as the images are projected.

Manufactured by Graflex Inc. in Rochester, NY. at that time subsidiary of the Singer Co. (known as a manufacturer of sewing machines). Graflex Inc. manufactured camera from the beginning of the 20th century, when it became a division of Eastman Kodak, then it was purchased by General Precision Equipment and then acquired by the Singer Corporation.
